desperate situation, faithful God

Intro
Facebook quote
Today we are going to look at the point where desperation and crisis meet God

1st Samuel 1:1-20
Desperate Situation, Faithful God

what
This is about Hannah & Her God
Re-emphasize the trauma using the text
2 wives
Jesus, Mathew 19:1-9
Paul, Ephesians 5:25-33
the Lord had closed her womb
Sarah/Hagar
Rachel/Bilha
Now hannah/penina
Sovereignty
The Lord opens/closes, according to His plan and His glory
Double portion (more than Penina) because
Rival, provoked
All the time
Hannah wept and would not eat
Hannah rose
Her husband was cool, but only God, the Lord of Hosts could fix this
Psalm 121
Prayer and vow
Look upon the affliction of your servant
I will give him to the LORD all the days of my life
Nazarite vow, separate to the Lord for a period of time
Hannah took the thing that was her soul’s biggest vexation and literally gave it to God
I wonder if what would happen if we flipped the script on our trauma in that way
Pouring out my soul before the Lord
She felt peace and release that the Lord hear her and God did!

so what
we go through trauma
Psalm 34:17-19 17When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. 19Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

he knows
every tear
every trama
every trial
He knows exactly how you feel
He knew and had compassion for Hannah’s heart of being humiliated and desperate
He knows the hurt from what he she they said
He knows the desperation of not knowing how to fix it
movie analogy, dunning out of time, does anyone know we are.here, our situation
contact is made, situation hasn’t changed but hope is here
he hears
1 john 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. 14And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
he can do something about it
He can open a womb
He can close a womb
He can destroy an army
He can control nature
He can change a heart
He can deliver from sin
He can save a loved one
Gen 18:14 Is anything too hard for the LORD?
now what
Pour out your soul to the Lord!
When it comes to the Lord, there’s no bucking up, there’s no being strong, nonchalant, pour out your soul to Him
Psalm 62:5-8
If you don’t have nothing, do it for someone else
Then receive your peace & rest
gospel
for saints and sinners
saints-in christ, Hs hears you, Jwsus purchased you that right and privilege as sons and daughters

sinners. explain why this dont work for you
